2010 Miken Freak DST Review

This is not going to be a great stock bat. The ASA told Miken the Vicious was too hot for their new standards even though it had originally passed the testing. The Freak DST was made with thicker walls to stay under 98 MPH. So, that means that they are pretty much a home run derby bat since we can obviously make up for the thicker walls by simply shaving a little more out of them. We always prefer to start with a hotter bat and then shave it but that doesn't mean you can't make something thicker walled hot. The bat has a somewhat small sweetspot. We have seen some paint chipping on some of them also whether stock or shaved.
