2011 Easton SRV5 Salvo Review

Inside information told us that Easton didn't exactly like losing a ton of money in 2009 on their ASA reveal line of bats. They basically told the ASA they were either going to be allowed to make their bats according to the older hotter standard or they were pulling out of making any more ASA softball bats. This year's bats validate that information as they are definitely hotter than 98MPH when broken in.

This is just a great bat and in our opinion performs just as well as the other 2011 Eastons at a lower price. It hits with any other ASA bat out there and has a nice sound and feel. The Salvo has a 12" barrel which gives you more of an endloaded feel but a little smaller sweet spot. The reasoning behind bats like this with a shorter barrel is to increase the amount of bat whip and endloaded feel which greatly helps with distance. It breaks in quickly but has some minor durability issues like those shared with some other 2010/2011 Easton's. This is a great bat to shave. They respond very well and are even better if endloaded a little more as the extra weight at the end will really help with distance.

Sweetspot: 9.0
Distance: 9.2
Durability: 8.5
